Our 92' Selene Ocean Explorer 2016 "Watta Ryde" has been drawing a lot of attention at the Seattle Boat Show! She was recently featured in the Puget Sound Business Journal and is officially the first yacht to make it into Patti Payne's Cool Pads! You can read the full write-up below and visit the Puget Sound Business Journal post for the slideshow.

Come aboard Watta Ryde, a Selene Ocean Explorer. This 92-foot luxury yacht is the first ship to make it into Patti Payne’s Cool Pads.

It is the largest yacht in the Seattle Boat Show, which runs from Jan 27 through Feb. 4.

I got a personal tour of this beauty from Hampton Yacht Group Managing Partner Robert Fiala, who has the $6.95 million listing.

The long-range yacht is moored at Chandler’s Cove in South Lake Union. It has a 5,500 nautical mile range and can accommodate eight people and a crew of four, or it can be a live-aboard home to travel the world and have family come and go.

“I see someone buying this who has a lot of freedom, who likes to entertain friends, family, business associates,” Fiala says. “I know entrepreneurs who have bought yachts and use them in part for business meetings, dinners and cruises and basically traveling worldwide.”

Watta Ryde was built in China and was completed and delivered in Seattle to its owners (who are in the transportation logistics and property management business) in February of 2016.

As it was being built, the owners made three trips to Holland, working closely with Guido De Groot, a Dutch architect in the Netherlands known for his design work in yacht exteriors and interiors.

The owners operated it themselves, they said in a phone call from London, and mostly took the boat out into the Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands.

They are selling it because they thought they had retired and were going to get to use this floating home. But in the time it took to build, they invested in other businesses that are now taking most of their time.

They said they love the open, family feel and modern look inside that hearkens to a European-style trawler vessel that is both ocean-going and economical to operate.

"It feels like a luxury home," says Fiala.

Some of the features include a private self-contained master stateroom with king-sized bed, walk-in closet, and a spa bath (or head, as it is called in boating) with dual sinks and Italian Carrara marble countertops. All of the heads have heated floors.

There are three other staterooms and two other rooms belowdecks that sleep four.

In the salon (main living area), there is a three-part sliding door that opens to the aft deck with dining area out there as well.

The hot tub on the foredeck has a u-shaped settee and the area is set up for an awning.

All the custom furniture, including leather recliners, goes with this yacht as well as two smaller boats: an 18-foot Edgewater center console tender with bimini and an 11-foot Achilles inflatable.

A fact important to boaters is that this yacht has a stabilization system which significantly reduces any motion while anchored, moored or drifting slowly.
